12:45pm: Lunch time. Now you can taste and enjoy your own culinary creation in a convivial Thai setting at the Blue Elephant Restaurant.

Note: As there is no market trip on Sunday morning, the student will be welcomed at 9:30am and the class will be started at 10:00am.

In the afternoon, depart for a Half Day Tour to Grand Palace and the Temple of Dawn.

The Grand Palace, the former residence of Thai kings, is a “must see” for every visitor in Bangkok. Located close to the banks of the Chao Phraya River (The River of Kings), the Grand Palace is the perfect example of an ancient Siamese court. Within the compound is the Temple of The Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), which houses Thailand’s most precious image of the Lord Buddha. The Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho is a giant lying Buddha, covered in gold leaf.

Then visit the most photographed sights in Bangkok, the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). The majestic shrine has a pagoda of 76 m high. It is decorated with glazed ceramic pieces which reflect the rising sun and gave the temple its name. It is easily one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok, not only because of its riverside location, but also because the design is very different than the other temples you can visit in Bangkok. Wat Arun is partly made up of colorfully decorated spires and stands majestically over the water.

You will then be transferred to the Asiatique harbour for an unique 2-hr cruise along the riverfront on a long-tailed boat This tour takes you to the heart of Thonburi, once an independent province, now seamlessly merged with the bustling city. Witness the authentic local way of life, a perspective often hidden from the other side of the river. In the past, Bangkok was a city of canals, earning its moniker as the "Venice of the East." These canals, known as "klongs," served not only for transportation and floating markets but also as sewage disposal. While many of these klongs have been filled in over time, Thonburi, on the west side of the Chao Phraya River, has preserved several of its larger canals, offering a glimpse into the city's rich history and local culture.

In the evening the enjoy a wonderful evening of Classical Thai Dances and delicious local sourced Thai food at the famed Calypso Thai Restaurant on the Asiatique Riverfront. This is a wonderful choice if you're looking for an authentic Thai dining experience. Enjoy a delicious Thai favorite set menu, which includes a variety of traditional Thai dishes that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. During the dinner enjoy the famous Lady-Boy Cabaret show which is a true Thai Cultural performance, adding a touch of entertainment and cultural immersion to your dining experience.

Start with a scenic ride on a narrow longtail-speedboat, passing riverside villages and fruit plantations, before entering the vibrant market. There will be many photo-opportunities along the way and in the colorful market on the water.

Afterwards, proceed to the Railway Market in Samut Songkhram. The market- stalls are literally on the railway tracks, so when a train approaches, vendors scramble to clear away their produces from the tracks. A truly unique experience!

Stop for lunch at a local restaurant and return to Bangkok.

This afternoon is free and at leisure.

(at own account)

Supplement is THB 2,300 /pax (approx.. CAD $95 per person)

*Included: English speaking guide, all transfer by Tuk Tuk (1:2 pax), street food testing, drink

Itinerary Evening Bangkok Street Eats By Tuk Tuk

Starting you Bangkok night tour. You will travel by Tuk-Tuk, this world-famous three-wheel motorized open-air vehicle and explore Bangkok’s markets, temples and food, under the night lights. While most tourists will visit Bangkok’s landmarks during the day time, Thailand Journeys offers the incredible opportunity to enter these places at an original and unique time of the day.

The first stop will be Bangrak, a trendy district just a short distance from the Chao Phraya River. Spend some time exploring the Bangrak Bazaar and the surrounding streets as your guide introduces you to some more tasty treats. (Alternative to Petchburi Soi 5 and China Town, Depend on the day in the week)

It’s really amazing time to take a great shot around Rattanagosin Island including the scenery outside of Wat Pho and Grand Palace in the night. Continue to China town (locally named Yaowarat road) – transforms into one of the largest street food spots in the world. Popular offerings include dim sum, oyster omelette’s, flat noodles in a pepper broth, and lots of fresh seafood. There are also many exotic fruits on offer, as well as homemade ice cream. We’ll explore some more unique flavors and street food treats throughout Chinatown before ending the journey with sipping a drink looking out over the nightlife scenery at the local bar.

With your eyes wide with wonder and your stomachs full of delicious flavors of the streets of Bangkok, be transported to one of the world’s most famous rooftop bars, the La Bua Skybar.

Here, we’ll enjoy a cocktail whilst admiring world-famous views of this most unique and special spot. (Drinks on your own account and very expensive – between CAD $25 - $50 per cocktail).

Only after experiencing these great—almost dizzying—heights can you understand why this dazzling spot is a must-see and why many consider a visit to the City of Angels incomplete without partaking in a Hangovertini or three. Afterall this famous bar was featured in the move, “The Hangover Part 11”

You’ve had rooftop drinks before, but Sky is something else—something worthy of all the hype. Suspended on a precipice 820 feet in the air, Sky is one of the highest rooftop cocktail bars in the world. Come for magic hour, or sundown, or after dark—it’s a different scene from hour to hour, thanks to the fading light, the flickering cityscape, and a backlit cocktail venue that changes color throughout the night.

After our cocktail, we can return to our hotel at our leisure via taxi or tuk tuk. A taxi will cost approx.. CAD $5.00.
