Day 10
Day 2: LIMA CITY TOUR AND LARCO MUSEUM

Welcome to Lima. Founded in 1535 by the Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro, this colonial city became the political and military capital of the New World until it was declared the capital of Peru in 1821. We begin our tour with a drive to the Park of Love located in Miraflores, the modern section of Lima with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Continue to the modern residential suburb of San Isidro, also known for good shopping with numerous large shopping centers.

Next, we head downtown to the colonial area of the city to visit the most important historical sites and monuments. First, we go to the Plaza de Armas where you will see the Government Palace, the Cathedral built on site where the first major church in Lima once stood. We continue to the 17th century church and cloister of San Francisco, a world cultural heritage site. The church and monastery hold many treasures including religious art that is unique to Peru. We also visit the catacombs, a winding underground tomb filled with bones.

Continue to the Larco Archaeological Museum located in a unique vice-royal mansion of the 18th century built over a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid and exhibits the world's largest private collection of pre-Columbian art boasting an astonishing array of gold, silver, semi-precious stones. Founded in 1926, the Larco Museum showcases remarkable chronological galleries providing an excellent overview on 3000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. Its masterpieces are considered worldwide icons of Pre-Columbian art, after being exhibited in the world's leading museums.

Day 1
Day 3 : FLIGHT TO CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY

Arrival to Cusco, at an elevation of 11,440 feet. To help manage and acclimate to the high altitude, we transfer down to the Sacred Valley at 8,200 feet of altitude. The Urubamba Valley is a laidback valley with a very pleasant climate perfectly suited for farming. Ancient ruins, gentle mountain slopes and scattered farming towns define the valley.

First stop is the Awanacancha Interpretation Center, a beautiful textile and South American camelid exhibition center which, in addition to displaying the beauty and benefits of vicuñas, alpacas, llamas and guanacos, presents the products obtained from them through a combination of traditional and modern techniques. This is a true living museum, involving and benefiting several camelid breeding communities in the area.

We continue to a beautiful countryside restaurant on the shores of the Urubamba River to enjoy a delicious lunch.

Later, we will enjoy our welcome session: Offering to the Pachamama. The Offering to Pachamama is the most important of all Andean ceremonies. Purpose of this ceremony is to have a one-of-a-kind experience, heightening your human values and spreading these to your loved ones. After the ceremony, you enjoy a little organic snack and will be transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley for check in and rest. Dinner at hotel.

After our yoga morning class, we depart for the drive through the fertile countryside making our way through the "Sacred Valley" of Urubamba to visit the local Indian Market of Pisac, where you will have the opportunity to spend some time in the local market, interacting with the people, observing the local identity, and doing a little shopping.

After lunch, we continue to Ollantaytambo, an ancient fortress of temples and terrace that tower over the valley.

In the evening, enjoy a pizza night made in the wood-burning ovens on the outdoor terrace. We wear chef hats and aprons, to knead the dough and prepare pizzas under the guidance of our chef. The plentiful selection of fresh toppings, carnivore and vegetarian alike, ensure each pizza is an utterly customized glutton’s delight.

Day 3
Day 5 : SACRED VALLEY: MARAS SALT POOLS, MORAY TERRACES AND QUECHUA VILLAGE

Morning excursion to the Inca agricultural experimental center of Moray where circular agricultural terraces, or “muyus” were excavated from the earth to create different microclimates, as part of what is said to have been an Inca agricultural research station, enabled the Incas to grow more than 250 plant species.

We continue to Maras. This otherwise modest village is proud to offer the world an invaluable treasure, in the form of the famous Maras salt. These saltpans create an impressive spectacle: hundreds of pure white pools, around which it is possible to walk. And local people offer every imaginable product made from this precious salt, even chocolates!

Next, we visit the community of Misminay, elevation 3700 meters, in the Urubamba Valley, where the townsfolk will greet you. You will be able to join with the families as they perform their daily tasks, like plowing or harvesting, depending on the time of year. You will enjoy a traditional lunch made by the community women from ingredients organically grown in their fields.

Later we will participate in a Fire Session. In this purification ritual, we say goodbye to all negative aspects in our lives by lighting clothes or personal objects that we wish to discard, symbolizing the old, things we no longer need in our lives and that which does not give us happiness. Ashes and smoke will take away the negativity and attract prosperity.

Evening transfer to CVasa Colonial Restaurant for dinner. A recently restored 200-year-old house, with balconies and typical decoration of the colonial times, invite you to enjoy the flavors of Peruvian Cuisine. A warm and elegant atmosphere, with a privileged view to the mountains, in the middle of the Plaza de Armas of Urubama .
