Enchanting Peru Tour – 2019 Testimonials:

It was a great trip! Loved it! The experiences were varied, awesome and unbelievable! Our schedule was packed! The food was “Rico”! Our small group was very nice and allowed us to get to know each other easily. Great group of ladies – lots of energy! Linda was so enthusiastic and fun! Absolutely everything was top notch! I finally just woke up after sleeping, since I got home, at 2:30 PM yesterday. Ivanof was phenomenal! Ricardo our driver was supreme! Janero, Claudia, and Omar in Lima were above and beyond. We were well taken care of. For me… nothing was lacking, especially for a first go around, inaugural, with the WOW group.

Stephanie Greenburg

From start to finish I would recommend the Women of the Worlds trip to all ladies that want to travel. The Peru trip was absolutely one of the best trips I have taken. From the villages that we toured and the people that we met it could not have been better. The tour guides were top notch, the history of the Inca sites we visited.

Judy Reid

Great memories indeed. Thank you very much Linda for the pictures and memories. My friend, who has participated in a lot of organized tours throughout the world, was very impressed when I told her how we were looked after, how much we got to see, the hotels we stayed in and the wonderful restaurants we went to. Plus, how we interacted with local people and all the non-tourist things we did. She said that I was very lucky. I had nothing to compare it with, but I felt very special from the beginning to the end of the trip. And yes, I was lucky to have a room for myself – thank you so much to you and to Tourcan Vacations for making this possible. My friend Karin is now very interested in going on a tour with Woman of the World Travel. And I would love to travel with you again Linda when the destination and time fits. Please keep me informed of upcoming tours.

Pass through unspoiled and picturesque Andean communities on your way to the Incan agricultural experimental center of Moray, famous for its sunken amphitheater, made up of four circular terraces, which appear to fade away into the earth like an artificial crater. Breakfast at the hotel.

Continue to the Ollantaytambo archaeological complex, the Incas built it as a fort that included a temple, agricultural terraces, and an urban area. There are two distinct sectors: The religious and worship zone, and the residential area. Ollantaytambo was an important administrative center with probable military functions if one considers the walls and towers. There are also traces of ancient roads and aqueducts as well as several Inca’s waterways coming from nearby rivers that still benefit the town irrigation system. During the Spanish conquest of Peru Ollantaytambo was the stronghold the Inca’s resistance. Its cobblestoned streets are part of the Inca’s city planning in the 1200s. The town of Ollantaytambo is called a “Living Inca Town” because their inhabitants still maintain ancient practices and customs from their ancestors.

Later, depart on the beautiful Vista Dome Train (operated by Belmond) to Aguas Calientes. From Aguas Calientes, you’ll board a bus to take you high up to the Andes to experience the unbelievable sights of the “Lost City of the Incas,” Machu Picchu. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Archaeologists believe that the Inca “Virgins of the Sun” took refuge from the Spanish Conquistadors here.
