Zagreb is a great year-round vibrant city, attracting more and more visitors with its charming mix of medieval history and a trendy lineup of restaurants, bars, shops and music festivals. Enjoy the funicular ride from Iliac Street to the Upper Town and take in some of the best views of the city from the romantic Strossmayer Promenade. The promenade runs along the remains of Zagreb’s medieval defense walls and was named after a famous 19th-century Croatian bishop and politician. Often lined with local artists, it is a good spot to buy some souvenirs to take home.

Tentative Timetable – 0800 - 1930

Today, on your walking tour, explore the beauties of Slovenia, firstly by visiting its capital Ljubljana, the political and cultural heart of the Slovenian nation. n Ljubljana the old meets the new; it has managed to retain traces from all periods of its rich history; from the legacy of Roman Emona; through to the Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau periods characterized in the house fronts and ornate doorways of the city center, the romantic bridges adorning the Ljubljanica river, the lopsided rooftops and a park reaching deep into the city center. Besides its shockingly long history of more than 3.000 years, Zadar is known for the most beautiful sunset in the world, as described by famous Alfred Hitchcock.

After our memorable visit in Zadar, we take a scenic 1 hr. drive to the charming town of Šibenik, the oldest Croatian self-proclaimed town on the Adriatic, located in the central part of the Croatian Adriatic coast, in a picturesque, indented bay of the river Krka, one of the most beautiful Croatian karstic rivers. Šibenik is one of the few cities in the world with two monuments listed on UNESCO's list of protected cultural heritage sites. Hvar, a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea, is best known as a summer resort. Enjoy a scenic ride along the Bay of Kotor as you make your way to Perast - a small, peaceful baroque village near to Kotor. Day 10
Dubrovnik

Breakfast included at your hotel.

Tentative timetable: 0900 – 2100

Today you will have a chance to meet a local who will tell you about sugared almonds, which holds a special place among the many Dalmatian sweets. Uncleaned almonds coated in caramelized sugar are a filling sweet snack which is traditionally prepared for Christmas and Easter, as well as for all festive occasions to treat welcome guests.

After this little adventure, it is time to get to know the Pearl of the Adriatic. After arriving to Dubrovnik’s Old Town, step into centuries of history among the cobbled streets of the Old Town on a guided walking tour of the city. Known as the pearl of the Adriatic, this walled city is renowned for its breathtaking beauty and more recently, as a popular filming location for the likes of Game of Thrones, Star Wars and Robin Hood.

My suggestions for free time:

• A great way to scoop out the layout of the city is to take the cable car up to the summit of Mount Srdj, which looks out across the city to Adriatic and back over the mountains of Herzegovina.

• A Bike tour or e-bike tour of the Dubrovnik coastline.

Farewell dinner at an authentic, local restaurant.
